High School Rowing

LPBC’s High School Rowing Team is for both novice and experienced rowers. Athletes train and compete in both sculling (two oars) and sweep (one oar). Training will include weight lifting and injury prevention exercises.

Lincoln Park Boat Club offers High School Rowing at all three boathouse locations. Athletes are encouraged to sign up at the location that works best for their schedule.

Lincoln Park Boat Club programs are designed for the competitive high school rower who plans to continue with rowing in college. These programs emphasize physiological development and training for injury-free competitive success. The athlete’s focus in these programs are competition and preparation for collegiate rowing. Additional workouts may be assigned for the athlete to complete on their own.

Lincoln Park Boat Club High Rowing offers year-round training. The Summer and Fall Seasons’ focus is on Aerobic and Technical Development with local Head Racing opportunities available in the Fall. The Spring Season is the High School Championship Season - All team members compete in head-to-head Sprint Racing. All athletes will compete locally and regionally, select athletes may attend national regattas including Youth Nationals and Head of the Charles.

Athletes may train year-round or participate in only select seasons based on their sports and other extracurricular activities. New High School Athletes may join from age 13+. No experience is required. Youth from 6-8th grade may join our Middle School Teams.
