Lincoln Park Boat Club’s competitive team practices from March/April (weather dependent) through late October on the Chicago River at the Eleanor Boathouse in Bridgeport. The team trains as a group on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings; individuals complete additional workouts throughout the week on their own or train in small boats at the Lincoln Park lagoon.
Members of the competitive team come from diverse rowing backgrounds – many competed with teams throughout high school and college while others learned to row here at LPBC.
The team competes throughout the summer and fall at races around the country, including:
- Chicago Sprints
- USRowing’s Club Nationals (select boats)
- USRowing’s Masters Nationals
- Milwaukee River Challenge
- Head of the Rock
- Chicago River Marathon
- Head of the Charles (select boats)
